A New Chapter for the 6‑Foot‑4 Forward
Sean Blakely Drummond, a 6‑foot‑4 forward from Palo Alto, California, has officially signed with the Oregon State men’s basketball program, marking his transition to the Beavers ahead of his sophomore season.
Drummond arrives after two years at the University of San Francisco, where he appeared in five games and recorded his first career points in the season‑opening win over UC Santa Cruz. He also contributed to the Dons’ West Coast Conference tournament victory over Portland, showcasing his ability to impact the game in brief but meaningful stretches.
Coach Joyner’s Assessment
Coach Justin Joyner highlighted Drummond’s leadership, work ethic, and basketball IQ, noting that the youngster competes as a true 3‑and‑D player, excelling on both ends of the floor while maintaining a high level of intensity.
Joyner further emphasized the intangible qualities Drummond brings, describing him as a natural leader who elevates teammates and embodies the program’s standards of effort and accountability.
From Elite Circuit to Academic Excellence
Prior to college, Drummond honed his craft in the Overtime Elite basketball league during the 2023‑24 season, a platform that prepared him for the rigors of Division I play.
He also graduated from SoCal Academy in Northridge with a perfect 4.0 GPA, earning All‑Academic honors for his scholarly achievements, and he now joins his brother, Dio Blakely, who plays for Washington State.
