Four-star linebacker Sean Fox has pledged to the University of Kentucky, turning down offers from Clemson and Georgia. The commitment arrives as Kentucky's 2027 recruiting class already sits ninth in the conference and is being hailed as one of the most promising in recent years.
A Recruiting Coup for the Wildcats
Fox, a native of Indianapolis, arrives with a national ranking of No. 23 among linebackers and No. 261 overall in his cycle. He fielded interest from 19 Power Four programs before making his choice, and his decision underscores the growing appeal of Kentucky's program.
During his high school career at Warren Central High School, Fox recorded 196 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, nine pass breakups and three forced fumbles while also excelling on the basketball court. His athletic versatility has drawn praise from industry observers.
Andrew Ivins, a 247Sports scouting director, described Fox as a tall and fluid linebacker, emphasizing the excitement surrounding his arrival in Lexington.
Kentucky's class also features commitments from quarterback Jake Nawrot, interior offensive lineman Dominic Black, defensive linemen Malachi Brown and Elijah Brown, and safety Marquis Bryant. In‑state recruits Ty Ashley and Drew Williams have also signed, adding depth to the roster.
Fox's decision follows two visits each to Clemson and Georgia, where he weighed the programs before electing to stay home. Meanwhile, Georgia has secured linebacker pledges from Joakim Gouda and Temorris Campbell Jr., and Clemson has added Bryce Kish, Max Brown and RJ Hudson to its own haul.
