Bozeman High School’s football program has endured a whirlwind of leadership changes in recent years, with four different head coaches arriving and departing within a single four‑year span.
Now the school has named Sean Maddox as its newest head coach, bringing six years of prior coaching experience to a program eager for continuity.
Maddox’s chief aim is to embed stability and consistency, hoping to break the cycle of turnover that has hampered the team’s development.
Rather than imposing a one‑size‑fits‑all scheme, he plans to shape the offense around the individual strengths of his players, allowing the attack to evolve with the roster.
A key part of his strategy involves recruiting, with the coach targeting 25 athletes per graduating class and aiming for a total program size of roughly 100 players.
Spring practices under Maddox will be defined by an emphasis on effort and passion, using the limited workout window to foster camaraderie and assess player readiness.
