Former Dayton Flyers guard Sean Pouedet has committed to California State University, Bakersfield, ending a brief college career that featured just 14 appearances and limited minutes for the Flyers.
Coach Todd Lee praised the newcomer's leadership and court vision, emphasizing Pouedet's recent dominance in Belgium's BNXT League where he led all players in assists during the 2024‑25 season.
A new chapter for Bakersfield basketball
Bakersfield finished the previous season with an 8‑24 record and has endured five consecutive losing campaigns, a stretch the program hopes to reverse with the addition of experienced playmakers.
Pouedet joins three other former Flyers who have also moved on: Adam Njie Jr. will head to Hampton, De’Shayne Montgomery transferred to Louisville, and Bryce Heard chose Wichita State as his next destination.
All four transfers share the distinction of having spent only a single season at Dayton before seeking new opportunities, a pattern that reflects recent roster turnover within the program.
The move underscores a broader trend of Dayton alumni dispersing across the collegiate landscape, each bringing a different set of skills that could influence their new teams' fortunes.
