A New Leadership Era for the Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken announced Tuesday that Patrik Allvin will join the franchise as vice president and assistant general manager, a move that underscores the team’s commitment to building a robust hockey operations department.
Allvin, who most recently reached the NHL GM of the Year final with the Vancouver Canucks, brings a proven track record of constructing winning rosters, having helped the Canucks capture a division title in 2024 with a 50‑23‑9 record.
In his new role, Allvin will collaborate closely with general manager Jason Botterill, focusing on professional scouting and the broader architecture of the Kraken’s player development pipeline.
The two executives share a history of success in Pittsburgh, where they contributed to three Stanley Cup championships, a foundation they hope to replicate in Seattle.
Joining Allvin on the bench, the Kraken also named Pascal Vincent as assistant coach. Vincent, a two‑time AHL Coach of the Year, has spent 26 years in coaching, including 15 at the professional level, and most recently earned the 2025 AHL Coach of the Year honor with the Laval Rocket.
His career includes stints as an NHL assistant with the Winnipeg Jets and Columbus Blue Jackets, where he earned a reputation for hard work, loyalty, and player development.
Vincent expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, citing his excitement about Seattle’s community and the chance to help shape a defensive identity that emphasizes playoff readiness.
Lane Lambert, the Kraken’s head coach, highlighted that Vincent and Allvin share a vision for a strong defensive structure and a culture of accountability, promising a contrasting yet complementary presence on the staff.
Both appointments signal the Kraken’s intent to blend analytical rigor with hands‑on player development as they aim to climb the Western Conference standings in the coming seasons.
