Auditing the Future of Hockey Operations
The Seattle Kraken recently completed a comprehensive audit of its hockey operations in partnership with the Sportsology Group. Over roughly 80 hours, the review spanned 14 departments, gathering insights through interviews to deliver an unbiased assessment of the organization’s strengths and growth opportunities.
Auditors highlighted the franchise’s solid foundation in player development and its emerging cohesion across scouting, analytics, and management. While these areas were identified as core strengths, the report also pinpointed specific opportunities to sharpen processes and align teams more tightly.
New Additions and Strategic Hires
In response to the findings, the Kraken have added experienced talent to their roster of staff. Pascal Vincent joins as an assistant coach, bringing a proven track record of player development, while Patrik Allvin steps into the role of assistant general manager to help steer hockey operations forward.
The offseason also saw the re‑signing of forward Bobby McMann and the acquisition of forward Mackie Samoskevich, reinforcing the depth chart as the club looks to build on its recent momentum.
Looking Ahead
Although the audit did not trigger immediate restructuring, it has set the stage for a sustained focus on staff capabilities and organizational alignment. The Kraken will continue to work closely with Sportsology to roll out the recommended changes, aiming to position themselves as a benchmark for player development across the league. Prospects such as Matty Beniers, Shane Wright and Berkly Catton are projected to contribute at the top six, and the Coachella Valley Firebirds provide an excellent environment for nurturing future talent.
Leadership figures including Tod Leiweke, Mike Forde and Ian Furness are expected to play pivotal roles as the organization implements these enhancements, ensuring that the Kraken’s hockey operations evolve in step with the team’s long‑term vision.
