Sebastian Cossa turned the 2025‑26 American Hockey League season into a personal showcase, posting numbers that placed him among the league’s elite.
Dominance Between the Pipes
He finished the regular season with a 26‑8‑4 record, five shutouts and a 2.33 goals‑against average, while his .915 save percentage ranked sixth in the league. A 10‑game winning streak from Nov. 25 to Dec. 27 saw him post a 1.51 GAA and a .939 save percentage, the longest stretch of excellence of his career.
Historical Milestones
Cossa’s performance earned him the Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award alongside teammate Michal Postava, recognizing the duo’s 2.21 goals per game allowed, and marked the first time a Griffins goaltender captured the honor. He was also named AHL Goaltender of the Month for November and December, a first in franchise history.
Over four seasons with Grand Rapids, Cossa has compiled 70 wins, eight shutouts, a 2.46 GAA and a .911 save percentage, positioning him fifth in games played, minutes logged and victories on the team’s all‑time list. His rise signals a promising future for the Griffins and adds a new chapter to the franchise’s goaltending legacy.
