A Milestone Achieved
Sebastian Khan, a standout pitcher from Wheeling University, has officially signed a professional contract with the Quebec Capitales of the Frontier League, marking the next step in a career that has already captured the attention of baseball enthusiasts across North America.
The agreement follows a season in which Khan overcame a four‑month injury that threatened to derail his senior year and earned him the 2026 Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Year honor. In 84.1 innings he posted a 9‑2 record, a 2.67 earned run average, four complete games and a program‑record 87 strikeouts, garnering First Team All‑MEC, First Team All‑Region and Third Team All‑American accolades.
Khan’s collegiate résumé is equally impressive: he finishes with a 10‑8 record and a 3.32 ERA over 146 innings, ranking second all‑time in career ERA and third in strikeouts for the program. He also helped the team post its first-ever no‑hitter and was named Wheeling University Male Athlete of the Year, underscoring his impact beyond the mound.
Looking Ahead
Expressing gratitude to his family, coaches and teammates, Khan is eager to step onto the field for game two of a three‑game series against the Sussex County Miners. The signing not only highlights his personal resilience but also signals the continued emergence of talent from the Mountain East Conference, a development that bodes well for the future of the sport.
