Florida State University’s baseball program has secured a new talent through the transfer portal, announcing the commitment of right‑handed pitcher Sebastian Lippman. The move adds depth to the Seminoles’ pitching staff as they look to bolster their rotation for the upcoming season.
High School Roots and Rankings
A six‑foot‑one, 193‑pound athlete from Plainview, New York, Lippman entered college with a strong prep pedigree. He was listed as the No. 246 overall prospect in the 2024 class by Perfect Game and ranked the No. 2 right‑handed pitcher out of New York, signaling early recognition of his potential.
During his redshirt freshman year at Florida Gulf Coast University, Lippman appeared in 21 games, starting three on the mound. He posted a 3.38 earned run average over 40 innings, striking out 50 batters while walking 28. Opponents batted just .219 against him, as he limited them to five doubles, one triple and five home runs.
Cape Cod League Experience
Currently pitching for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League, Lippman has made four relief appearances, allowing two runs in 11 innings. In that span he has fanned 14 batters, surrendered 11 hits and issued four walks, underscoring his ability to perform in a competitive summer circuit.
Coaches at Florida State expect Lippman to contribute primarily as a pitcher, leveraging his proven track record and summer league experience. His addition is viewed as a strategic step toward strengthening the team’s depth and competitiveness in the coming season.
