The Southeastern Conference announced its 2026‑27 men’s basketball slate on Thursday, laying out a demanding schedule that opens with a home showdown against Florida and Tennessee and stretches to road tests at Arkansas and Kentucky.
For Auburn, the schedule is more than a list of opponents; it is a roadmap back to the NCAA Tournament after a 7‑11 finish in conference play last season, a record that left the Tigers on the bubble.
A Roadmap Back to the Tournament
The Tigers will meet Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss twice apiece, a pattern that includes a 0‑2 mark against the Crimson Tide and a split with the Rebels, while LSU handed Auburn an 88‑74 defeat in their lone meeting last year.
Home games at Neville Arena will feature the marquee matchups against Florida and Tennessee, while the road slate includes trips to Texas A&M, Texas, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and the traditional powerhouses of Arkansas and Kentucky.
In addition to the conference grind, Auburn will test itself against non‑conference opponents West Virginia, Clemson and Wisconsin, a trio that could shape the team’s résumé before the SEC tournament.
With the schedule now official, the coaching staff and players are turning their focus to turning those challenging matchups into opportunities, hoping that a stronger conference record will secure a berth in the national tournament.
