Section 1 Unveils 2026 Flag Football Honorees
Section 1 has revealed its postseason honors and all‑section teams for the 2026 flag football season, a list compiled by the coaches who oversaw each program throughout the year.
Mamaroneck emerged as the Class A champion, while Yorktown secured the Class B title and Westlake/Briarcliff captured the Class C crown, setting the stage for individual recognitions.
The coaches also named the Player of the Year and position‑specific awardees, highlighting the talent that defined each class. In Class A, Hope Ziogas of New Rochelle earned Player of the Year honors, with Chase Harris of Arlington taking Offensive Player of the Year and Sarah Sherman of Mamaroneck receiving Defensive Player of the Year. Anthony Vitti of Mamaroneck was celebrated as Class A Coach of the Year.
Class B accolades went to Eve Girardi of Tappan Zee as Player of the Year, Maria Garofalo of Mahopac as Offensive Player of the Year, and Sydney Soliz of Yorktown as Defensive Player of the Year. Yorktown’s Mike Rescigno was named Class B Coach of the Year.
In Class C, Juliana DiMarino of Westlake/Briarcliff was selected as Player of the Year, and Lowell Robinson of the same school earned Coach of the Year honors, capping a season that showcased depth across the section’s programs.
The recognition extends beyond individual awards, reflecting the collaborative effort of schools such as New Rochelle, Arlington, Mamaroneck, Tappan Zee, Mahopac, Yorktown, and Westlake/Briarcliff, all of which contributed to a competitive and celebrated campaign.
