A Strategic Move for Utah Valley Basketball
Utah Valley University has named Seena Namdar as its new Director of Recruiting for the 2026‑27 athletic season, a move that underscores the program’s confidence in his ability to shape the next generation of Wolverines talent and to guide the team through its inaugural Big West Conference schedule.
Namdar’s ascent follows two seasons as a graduate assistant under head coach Todd Phillips, during which he helped orchestrate a 50‑18 overall record and a 29‑5 mark in Western Athletic Conference play.
A Record of Excellence
Under his guidance the Wolverines captured back‑to‑back regular‑season WAC titles, secured two consecutive WAC Tournament runner‑up finishes and earned multiple National Invitation Tournament berths, cementing Utah Valley’s rise as a mid‑major powerhouse.
The team set single‑season records for total assists (630), assists per game (18.5), scoring average (80.1) and field‑goal percentage (.501), numbers that reflect the offensive rhythm Namdar helped instill.
Prior to joining the Utah Valley staff, Namdar honed his craft at Salt Lake Community College, where the Bruins claimed back‑to‑back Scenic West Athletic Conference championships, and earlier at Colorado Northwestern Community College, where he earned NJCAA All‑Academic First Team honors and the Region 18 Sportsmanship Award.
A native of Sandy, Utah, Namdar also brings experience from Lace ‘Em Up Basketball, blending grassroots coaching with collegiate strategy as the program prepares for its inaugural Big West Conference schedule.
