Seminoles' Receiving Corps Poised for a Resurgence
During the 2025 campaign the Seminoles' wide‑receiver corps proved to be one of the most potent in the ACC, anchored by veterans Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy and Lawayne McCoy. Their deep‑route precision and yards‑after‑catch ability helped the team secure a double‑digit win streak. To sustain that momentum, Florida State added two early enrollees, Jasen Lopez and Devin Carter, who are expected to inherit the production left by McCoy as he moves on to the next level.
The program's recruitment drive received a jolt when it extended a scholarship to Seven Rashad, a 6‑foot‑5 prospect from the class of 2028. Rashad arrives after a stellar high school career at Buford High School in Georgia, where he helped his team finish 15‑0 and capture a national championship. As a sophomore he recorded 5 receptions for 64 yards and four touchdowns, and as a freshman he posted 29 catches for 517 yards and four scores.

Rashad's recruitment has been closely watched after he pledged to Purdue in the spring of 2024, only to reopen his options in April of this year. The surge of interest includes offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Auburn, Colorado and Duke, bringing his total to nearly 30 programs. Analysts note that his blend of size, speed and contested‑catch ability makes him a rare commodity in the 2028 pool.
With two verbal commitments already on the board — three‑star tight end Troy Silberzahn and three‑star defensive back Chayse Brown — the Seminoles' 2028 class currently sits at No. 7 in the national rankings. Adding Rashad would not only reinforce the receiving corps but also signal a broader ambition to compete for top talent traditionally gravitating toward the SEC and Big Ten.
