Serenity Safeeullah, a sophomore forward for Alabama State University, has been selected to the SWAC Preseason All-Conference Second Team for the 2026 women's soccer season, a testament to her rapid rise in the program.
Preseason Outlook
During her rookie campaign she featured in 17 of 20 matches, starting 13 and delivering three shots on goal in five consecutive games, and she capped the year with two goals, including a game‑winning strike against Arkansas‑Pine Bluff on October 24, 2025.
Head coach Alicia Wilson, now in her second season, will rely on Safeeullah’s leadership as the team brings together nine returning student‑athletes and seven incoming transfers.
The schedule opens with preseason scrimmages against Southern Union on August 9 and Mobile on August 10, followed by the first official game against Southern Mississippi on August 13 at 6 p.m.
Wilson highlighted Safeeullah’s growing shot volume — up from 1.65 per game last year to 2.2 this season — as a key factor in the team’s attacking strategy.
