Sevastopol Baseball Team Dominates Packerland Conference Doubleheaders

A week of wins and a narrow loss highlights the team's resilience as they head into final conference matchup

The Sevastopol boys baseball team closed out a hectic week with a decisive sweep of Southern Door, winning 10‑0 and 12‑0 in a Friday night doubleheader that showcased both a dominant offense and a polished pitching staff.

Andrew Wiesner delivered a complete‑game shutout for the Pioneers, while Mac Hofflman, who started on the mound for Southern Door, gave up ten runs on seven hits before being relieved.

A Narrow Victory and a Quick Redemption

On Saturday the Pioneers traveled to Sturgeon Bay, where they first relinquished a seven‑run lead and fell 11‑10, a game that turned on a clutch RBI single by Jack Higginbotham that drove in Rylan Ruenger, and a relief effort by Dominic Blish that sealed the win.

The following contest saw Chase Haberli throw a no‑hit game, walking three and striking out seven, while Logan Schuh closed out the final four innings and earned the victory; the team compiled ten hits, including doubles from Schuh, Bo Tanck, Reid LeClair, Roman LeClair and Jack Haen, plus a triple from Haberli.

Finishing the week at 3‑1 in Packerland Conference play, the Pioneers now turn their attention to a final league doubleheader against Gibraltar/Washington Island, hoping to close the season on a high note.
