The Sevastopol boys baseball team saw their season come to an abrupt close on Tuesday night, as they fell 5-2 to Peshtigo in the WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal.
While the Pioneers managed eight hits compared to Peshtigo’s six, the timely hitting was not enough to overcome the opponent’s pitching.
On the mound, Andrew Wiesner and Chase Haberli took the ball for Sevastopol, delivering solid outings but ultimately surrendering the lead.
A Narrow Loss, But a Promising Season
Peshtigo’s pitching duo, Braydon Denowski and Byrce Heroux, kept the pressure on and helped steer their team to a 5-2 victory.
With the win, Peshtigo advances to the regional semifinal, where they will look to continue their playoff run.
