Rising Stars Set for East-West All-Star Showdown
The Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association will host its second East-West All-Star baseball game at Penn State's Medlar Field, bringing together the best senior talent from across the state.
The West squad draws its players from Districts 4 through 10, while the East team represents Districts 1, 2, 3, 11 and 12, each fielding a roster of 27 seniors selected by their coaches.
Among the West’s seven WPIAL representatives are infielder Thad Longwell of Moon, first baseman Logan Plummer of Pine-Richland, outfielder/pitcher Kingston Kotec of Hopewell, catcher Max Black of Serra Catholic, first baseman/pitcher Mike Bruckner of Bethel Park, pitcher J.B. Krovak of Elizabeth Forward and pitcher Denny Joseph of Neshannock.
All seven athletes have committed to NCAA programs, ranging from PennWest California and Mercyhurst to Akron and LaRoche, underscoring the caliber of talent on display.
The East team entered the inaugural contest last year with a 9-2 victory, setting a high bar for this year's matchup as fans anticipate another high-scoring affair.
Coaches from the Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association, who nominated each player, praised the blend of skill, sportsmanship and regional pride that defines the all-star event.
