The disruption centers on two doubleheader matchups. WESTCO’s junior and senior teams are slated to travel to Chadron, where the first game is set to begin at 5 p.m. local time. Simultaneously, Gering’s junior and senior squads will head to Sheridan County for their own road doubleheader, also scheduled to start in the early evening.
Despite the inclement conditions, league officials have confirmed that the games will proceed as planned, but without the accompanying live broadcast that normally brings the excitement to a wider audience. Spectators attending the venues will still be able to experience the play in person, though the absence of a televised feed will be felt by those following from afar.
Meteorologists predict a heavy chance of rain later in the week, raising the possibility that Wednesday’s schedule could be further impacted. Organizers have indicated that they will issue updates as the forecast evolves, aiming to keep players, coaches and fans informed about any changes to broadcast availability or game timing.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, the action will shift to new venues. WESTCO is set to play at Alliance, while Gering will host Chadron on their home field. In addition, Gering’s junior team will take the field earlier than the usual 5 p.m. start, and the senior side will resume a game that was previously paused earlier in the season before completing its regularly scheduled night contest.
