Shane Victorino, a three‑time USA Baseball alumnus and two‑time World Series champion, has turned his playing days into a mission to shape young talent both on and off the field.
From Champion to Coach
After witnessing a heated exchange between coaches at his son’s game, Victorino felt a calling to step into the dugout and begin mentoring. That moment sparked the creation of his Flyin’ Hawaiian program, a platform where he blends baseball instruction with life‑lesson teaching.
The program has already taken its teams to historic venues such as Cooperstown, New York, and the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska — experiences the veteran missed as a player. Most recently, Victorino’s squad is competing in the USA Baseball 15U National Team Championships in Arizona, showcasing the talent he has cultivated.
For Victorino, wearing the USA uniform is more than a jersey; it is a responsibility to represent his country with pride. He repeatedly stresses that respect and work ethic are the foundations of any success, whether in baseball or in life.
His ultimate goal is to inspire youngsters to become the best versions of themselves, regardless of where their athletic journeys may lead. By sharing the lessons he learned from failure and perseverance, Victorino hopes to leave a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the diamond.
