A Recruiting Maestro Returns
Shannon LeBeauf is returning to UCLA as associate head coach of the women’s basketball team after a one‑year stint at Rutgers, where she served as senior associate head coach. The move comes after a distinguished 14‑year tenure at UCLA that culminated in a 321‑143 record and two top‑ranked recruiting classes.
During her earlier period with the Bruins, LeBeuf was instrumental in shaping the program’s identity, first as a recruiter and later as the team’s recruiting coordinator. Her ability to forge meaningful relationships within the program was highlighted by Head Coach Cori Close, who praised LeBeuf’s coaching acumen and talent‑evaluation skills.
LeBeuf’s recruiting pedigree includes two historic No. 1 classes. The 2014 cohort featured Recee' Caldwell, Jordin Canada, Monique Billings, Lajahna Drummer and Kelli Hayes, while the 2021 class added Kiki Rice, Gabriela Jaquez, Londynn Jones, Christeen Iwuala and Lina Sontag to the roster.
Before her initial UCLA adventure, LeBeuf gathered coaching experience at Duke University, the University of Southern California and the University of Iowa, honing a skill set that blends technical development with player‑centric leadership.
