A New Chapter for UCLA
Shannon LeBeauf is returning to the UCLA women’s basketball team as associate head coach, stepping in to replace Michaela Onyenwere, who has moved on to the WNBA. The transition will be marked by a pregame ceremony in February honoring LeBeauf’s contributions.
LeBeauf’s 14‑year partnership with head coach Cori Close produced two top‑ranked recruiting classes at UCLA and several top‑10 hauls at Duke and USC. Her recruiting excellence was recognized with induction into the A STEP UP Assistant Coaches Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
Promoted to associate head coach before the 2019‑20 season, she also helped establish the Leaders in Training mentorship program, underscoring her focus on holistic player development.
Close lauded LeBeauf for her elite recruiting skills, coaching insight, and talent for developing student‑athletes, expressing confidence that her presence will bolster the Bruins’ ambitions in the coming seasons.
