Kealty arrives after more than twenty years spent within the Nashville Predators organization, where he progressed from amateur scout to director of scouting and ultimately assistant general manager.
A scouting pedigree built on high‑impact drafts
During his tenure in Nashville, Kealty oversaw eight drafts that yielded notable NHL talents, including Seth Jones and Roman Josi, both of whom have become cornerstone players for their respective teams.
International experience and a gold‑medal connection
Beyond club duties, Kealty served as general manager for Team USA at the 2025 World Championships, guiding the squad to a gold medal alongside Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky, a partnership that highlights his ability to thrive on the international stage.
A shared collegiate past with the GM
The hiring also rekindles a personal connection between Kealty and GM Mike Grier, who were teammates at Boston University from 1994 to 1996, lending a layer of camaraderie to their new working relationship.
