Shaunessy Saucier has been appointed as the new field hockey coach at Husson University in Bangor, bringing a decade‑plus track record of leadership at the high school and collegiate level. She replaces Kaitlin Dolloff, who stepped down after three seasons, and steps into a program that finished last year with a 9‑7 record and captured the ECAC Division III title.
Saucier’s coaching journey includes stints at Nokomis High School and an eight‑year tenure at Bryant University, where she guided the team to a Class B North championship game appearance and cultivated a strong pipeline of player development.
A Focus on Maine Talent
Nineteen of the 22 players on the current roster hail from Maine, and Saucier hopes to build on that local foundation by attracting additional talent from across the state. Her vision emphasizes continuity with the program’s competitive spirit while expanding its reach within the region.
Adding to the familiar atmosphere, Saucier’s younger sister Liz Atkinson will join the staff, providing another trusted voice as the team looks ahead to the next season.
