The Shoulder Check Hockey Showcase, a charity event that has become a fixture in Connecticut’s youth hockey community, is set to relocate to Sacred Heart University’s Martire Family Arena in Fairfield for its fourth edition.
Originally staged at the Terry Conners Ice Rink in Stamford for three consecutive years, the showcase will now take place on July 30, with tickets already on sale.
Dozens of NHL players and community members will take part in the evening, using the platform to promote mental health awareness and to encourage a simple act of kindness — a shoulder check — that can make a difference.
A community response
The relocation underscores a broader commitment to mental health advocacy, blending sport with outreach and giving families a tangible way to honor loved ones while fostering conversation.
