The Show Baseball Sluggers clinched their second straight Sun Belt College League championship, sweeping the Old Pueblo Kings in a best‑of‑three series. They posted a 3‑1 victory on Tuesday before rolling to a 6‑0 win on Wednesday, cementing their dominance in the league.
MVP and standout performances
Left fielder Dane Heppner, a graduate of Lamar Community College, was named MVP for his all‑around contribution. Pitcher Matthew Greiner, a Tanque Verde High School alumnus, earned the win in the final game, while Javier Arvizu of Pima Community College batted .526 with 18 RBIs. A combined effort from Aciel Guillen, Adam Federico Jr., and Ian Lemus limited the Kings to a single run on Tuesday, and Connor Ellis, a Marana graduate, delivered a two‑run single that helped seal the series victory.
