The Shreveport Times has unveiled its 2026 All-City high school baseball squad, a tribute to the most dynamic talents from Caddo and Bossier parishes. The selection celebrates athletes who have distinguished themselves through power, precision, and relentless competitiveness.
Cole Snell of Benton High School stands out as the Player of the Year after delivering a .440 batting average, four home runs, 48 RBIs and 26 stolen bases. His dual-threat ability to drive in runs and create scoring opportunities has made him a focal point of the team's narrative.
Pitcher of the Year Bryson Gates, also from Benton, posted a 6-1 record with a 2.53 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 30 innings, underscoring his dominance on the mound. Complementing his pitching, Gates contributed a .409 average and 13 RBIs, illustrating a rare blend of arm strength and bat skill.
Offensive Player of the Year Nathan Cervantes of Northwood High School impressed with a .442 average, 12 home runs, 11 doubles and 29 RBIs, positioning him among the most potent hitters in the region.
Defensive Excellence and Coaching Accolades
Levi DeMoss from Calvary earned Defensive Player of the Year honors for his steadfast fielding and game-changing plays, while Coach of the Year Dane Peavy guided Benton to a season marked by strategic depth and consistent performance.
Additional standouts include Andrew Sharp of Captain Shreve, who batted .479 with a home run and 12 RBIs, and Denton Hester, also from Captain Shreve, who posted a .375 average with four homers and 15 RBIs. Both players added crucial depth to their team's lineup.
The roster also features Seth Jorstad and Carson Plant from Haughton, each compiling batting averages above .400 while delivering double-digit RBIs. Brayden Todd and Nick Lopez of Evangel contributed .457 and .487 averages respectively, pairing power with on-base reliability.
Other notable mentions include Cooper Holmes of Calvary, who hit .467 with nine home runs, 33 RBIs and 35 runs scored, and Brody Gray, also from Calvary, who posted a .401 average with seven homers and 25 RBIs. Leo Heng of Airline went 4-0 with a 0.57 ERA and 22 strikeouts, while Hayden Millen of Benton stole 16 of 18 bases and hit .489.
Landon Martin from Northwood finished 4-2 with 33 strikeouts in 31 innings and a 3.3 ERA, and Holt Tunstall from North Caddo maintained a .423 average for the Titans. Brody Turnipseed of Benton hit .385 with 14 RBIs and a 1.030 OPS, rounding out a list rich with talent.
Luca Golden from Loyola Prep went 6-1 with a 2.06 ERA and 56 strikeouts, while Caden Pryor from the same school posted a .406 average, 10 doubles, three triples, a home run, 23 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. Their performances collectively illustrate the depth of skill across the All-City selections.
