A disturbance broke out at East Coweta Football Stadium during a Friday night high school football matchup between East Coweta High School and Newnan High School, drawing the attention of players, fans and local authorities.
Police Move In Quickly
Law enforcement officers arrived within minutes, securing the area around the stadium entrance near 9:10 p.m. and ordering the crowd to disperse. Their swift presence prevented the situation from escalating further.
Arrests and Charges
Six individuals were taken into custody, including Shamarion Reese, 20, who faced multiple charges related to a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm on school grounds and affray. Also arrested were teenagers Ashton Richardson, Mark Williams, Jontavious Broome and Kashmir Richardson, each charged with affray or disorderly conduct.
Evidence Recovered
Investigators recovered a handgun on the ground that was later linked to Reese, providing a key piece of evidence in the case. The other arrestees were processed on site before being released pending further legal proceedings.

East Coweta High School Principal Stefanie Easterwood expressed gratitude toward the responding officers, noting that the swift action allowed the game to continue without further disruption and that the incident did not compromise student safety.
Authorities emphasized that the confrontation was contained rapidly, preventing any escalation that could have endangered the large gathering of spectators.
