Award Process and Public Involvement
The Girls Soccer Player of the Year campaign begins with a statewide pool of standout athletes. After an initial selection, the public is invited to cast votes for one more player who just missed the cut, expanding the finalist group before a final decision is rendered.
A panel of experts then conducts a Heisman‑style vote to determine the winner, blending fan enthusiasm with professional assessment. This hybrid approach aims to celebrate both popular support and on‑field excellence.
