Slovenia captured the FIBA U20 EuroBasket title on Friday, defeating Serbia 84-65 in a decisive final that marked their first championship in 22 years. The victory was sealed in a commanding performance that left little doubt about the team's superiority.
Vit Hrabar led the scoring with 18 points, while five Slovenian teammates joined him in double figures, underscoring the depth of the roster. The final scoreboard reflected a 19-point margin, highlighting the team's balanced attack.
Mark Padjen was named Tournament MVP, finishing the competition with averages of 15.7 points, 5.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. His all-around contribution was pivotal in orchestrating the offense and controlling the tempo.
The All-Star Five also featured Urban Kroflic, Nikola Dzepina, Raul Villar and Mohamed Diakite, recognizing the standout performances across the tournament.
Spain claimed third place with a 65-54 win over France, while Iceland, Ukraine and Sweden earned promotion to Division A for the next edition. Conversely, Czechia, Belgium and Romania were relegated to Division B.
