Daneu, a 6‑11 forward hailing from Ljubljana, brings a blend of size, skill and experience that coaches say fits the Dons' evolving style of play.
His basketball roots run deep; his father, Jaka Daneu, played professionally for Slovenia, while his grandfather, Ivo Daneu, is a FIBA Hall of Famer celebrated for his contributions to Slovenian and Yugoslav basketball.
EuroBasket Impact
During the 2024‑25 FIBA EuroBasket qualifiers, Daneu averaged 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and a steal per game, and he capped the campaign with a double‑double against Ukraine, recording 13 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
Earlier that year he helped Cedevita Olimpija capture the Slovenian Super Cup, earning MVP honors after a 16‑point performance that underscored his versatility on both ends of the floor.
The forward's club journey includes stints with Ilirija and Helios Domžale before returning to Olimpija in 2024, where he contributed to a historic sweep of all three domestic trophies.
