A Dominant Display
Chandler Smith captured his second straight NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory at North Wilkesboro Speedway, a feat that also delivered the largest margin of victory ever recorded on a short track. Smith guided his truck for 105 of the 250 laps, pulling away from the field and finishing ahead of his teammate Layne Riggs.
Podium Finish
Riggs crossed the line 8.479 seconds behind Smith, while Shane van Gisbergen, Christian Eckes and Landen Lewis completed the top five. The top ten also featured Gio Ruggiero, Chase Elliott, Stewart Friesen, Corey Heim and Ty Majeski, rounding out a competitive field.
Looking Ahead
Carson Hocevar, who had led 74 laps earlier in the race, saw his chances evaporate after a tire issue forced him to finish 27th, a disappointing end to what had been a strong performance. The series will now head to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, where the next showdown promises another clash of the division’s rising talent.
