The Atlantic Coast Conference released its 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule on Thursday, outlining a competitive 18‑game slate for the SMU Mustangs that blends familiar rivalries with demanding road trips.
ACC schedule unveiled
Among the home opponents, SMU will welcome Georgia Tech and Louisville to Moody Coliseum, while also hosting Cal, Clemson, Duke, Pitt, Stanford, Syracuse and Wake Forest throughout the season.
The road portion of the schedule includes trips to Boston College, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Virginia and Virginia Tech, offering the Mustangs a rigorous test against some of the ACC’s top programs.
SMU’s recent on‑court progress has been notable; the team posted a 20‑14 record last season, captured its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2017, and earned top‑25 rankings in both the AP and Coaches polls for the first time in nine years.
Coach Andy Enfield, now in his third year with the program, has assembled one of the nation’s most highly regarded transfer classes, a group ranked No. 6 overall and second in the ACC by On3, which has sparked optimism about the Mustangs’ depth and versatility.
The 2027 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament is slated for March 9‑13 at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, where SMU hopes to translate its regular‑season momentum into a deep postseason run.
With the team currently sitting in the top‑30 nationally for scoring, assists, field‑goal percentage and three‑point shooting, and having tied for the most All‑ACC honorees this year, the Mustangs enter the new season as a program on the rise.
