SMU head football coach Rhett Lashlee and senior quarterback Kevin Jennings unveiled the Kevin Jennings Recovery Center, a new facility aimed at boosting the performance and well‑being of Mustang student‑athletes.
The center, made possible by the generosity of alumni Ann and Malcolm Holland, features two dedicated recovery spaces equipped with state‑of‑the‑art recovery equipment, setting a new standard for athletic rehabilitation.
A Facility Named in Honor of a Trailblazer
Jennings becomes the first current SMU student‑athlete to have an athletics building named after him, underscoring his impact on campus and his commitment to future generations of Mustangs.
In his remarks, Jennings expressed deep gratitude to the Holland family for turning the vision into reality and highlighted the center’s role in providing championship‑level resources to upcoming athletes.
Coach Lashlee praised Jennings’ leadership, emphasizing how his dedication reflects the values of SMU and the broader Dallas community.
Jennings, a two‑year team captain, enters his senior season as one of the nation’s premier quarterbacks, having guided SMU to the ACC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff in the program’s inaugural ACC campaign.
Last season he posted career highs of 3,641 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and 300 completions, earning him a finalist spot for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
The Mustangs are set to travel to Charlotte this Friday for the ACC Kickoff, and a press conference with the coaching staff and Jennings will commence at 9 a.m. CT.
