Snohomish United’s men’s and women’s soccer squads are back in action, marking a busy week for the club as it navigates the early stages of two separate league campaigns. The men’s team has been in the USL2 league for two weeks, while the women’s side just opened its season with a home match.
The men’s side secured a spot in the USL2 playoffs after a convincing 5‑1 victory over the Tacoma Stars. The result not only highlighted the team’s depth but also demonstrated its ability to execute under pressure in front of a home crowd at Stocker Fields.
Goal contributions came from a familiar trio of local standouts. Declan Mcglynn opened the scoring in the second minute, followed by Aaron Leon’s triple strike in the 15th, 30th and 45th minutes, and Eric Lagos capped the night with the fifth goal in the 78th minute.
That win improved the men’s record to 1‑1 as of May 29, a promising start for a team that began the season just two weeks earlier. The performance has kept optimism high among players, coaches and the growing fan base.
Home matches are played at Stocker Fields, tucked off Lincoln Avenue in Snohomish, providing a familiar backdrop for supporters and a venue that has witnessed many of the club’s most memorable moments.
Looking Ahead: Upcoming Fixtures
The women’s team opened its season on June 1 with a home contest and will next host USL‑W opponents on June 4 and June 6, both scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff. Meanwhile, the USL2 men’s side returns to league play on June 5 at the same evening time, aiming to build on the momentum generated by the recent playoff‑clinching win.
With the schedule set and key players already finding the back of the net, Snohomish United looks poised to make a deeper run in both the USL2 and USL‑W competitions, while the community rallies around a club that continues to grow on and off the pitch.
