Snow College’s men’s basketball program received a boost as Head Coach Brad Kitchen unveiled the coaching staff for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, confirming the return of assistant Ethan Kahn and adding graduate assistant Carter Sonneborn to the roster.
Returning Experience and Academic Excellence
Kahn, now in his second year with the Eagles, helped guide the team to a 29‑5 record last season, including a 12‑3 mark in the Scenic West Athletic Conference and an at‑large bid to the NJCAA National tournament, where they opened with a victory over Trinidad State. The squad also captured the highest grade point average in NJCAA men’s basketball at 3.67, underscoring a culture that blends competitive success with scholarly achievement.
A Fresh Perspective from the West Coast
Sonneborn arrives from the University of Portland, where he served as a graduate assistant and player developer, contributing to a historic win that ended a 20‑game losing streak against an AP Top‑10 opponent, a 78‑67 upset of Gonzaga. He worked alongside All‑West Coast Conference standouts Joel Foxwell and Max Mackinnon, and recently completed an MBA and a graduate certificate in Sports Business.
Kitchen praised the new staff, describing Kahn as “hard‑working, talented, and skilled at building relationships with players,” and noting that Sonneborn’s background in high‑level programs will inject valuable insights into practice and game planning.
