The Sonoma Valley High School Varsity Boys Baseball Team is set to be celebrated as the latest honoree of the city’s “Celebrate Sonoma” program, a tribute that underscores the Dragons’ remarkable journey from underdogs to champions.
A Season of Triumph
Under the guidance of Head Coach Sean Boisson and Assistant Coach Clay Dunkle, the squad finished the regular season with a 16‑12 record and secured fourth place in the competitive Vine Valley Athletic League with a 6‑6 league slate.
The Dragons capped the year with a four‑game postseason surge, culminating in a 5‑2 victory over Montgomery High School in the North Coast Section Division 5 title game — the program’s second NCS crown and its first since 2008.
City Council Recognition
The honor will be formally presented when the Sonoma City Council convenes on August 5, 2026, offering the community a chance to applaud the players, coaches, and the broader program that has put Sonoma on the baseball map.
As the Dragons prepare to compete in the CIF NorCal Baseball Championships, the city’s recognition serves as both a celebration of past achievement and a rallying cry for the next generation of athletes.
