South Carolina’s women’s basketball program kicks off the 2026‑27 SEC slate on Dec. 31 with a home game against Alabama, marking the first step of a schedule that blends conference battles with a globe‑trotting non‑conference slate.
Coach Dawn Staley, who captured her tenth regular‑season SEC title last year, returns a core group that includes MiLaysia Fulwiley, who will make her first appearance at Colonial Life Arena since joining the Gamecocks in 2024, and Jordan Lee, who is set to meet Texas for the first time after transferring in April 2024.
The schedule also highlights a Feb. 21 showdown with LSU, a matchup that has drawn attention as a potential turning point in the conference race, while the team’s earlier meeting with Texas will be part of an annual home‑and‑home series that adds extra intrigue.
A demanding road ahead
Beyond the SEC, South Carolina will test itself against a varied slate that includes contests in Paris, Charlotte, Greenville, Las Vegas and Connecticut, as well as a December 3 ACC‑SEC Challenge game against Duke at Colonial Life Arena.
The non‑conference portion, still being finalized, also features matchups against Maryland, North Carolina, Southern California, Providence and UConn, giving the Gamecocks a rigorous preparation before the SEC Tournament.
