South Central Conference Announces All-Conference Soccer Selections
The South Central Conference has released its all-conference soccer selections for the past season, spotlighting standout performances from both the Knoxville boys' and girls' programs.
Boys' First-Team Highlights
The boys' squad placed six players on the first team, a testament to their depth and competitiveness. Brody DeJong paced the Panthers with 18 assists, while Cael Cook contributed nine goals and two assists. Brett Watters led the team in scoring with 11 goals, and Drake Larson added a strong defensive presence, earning 2nd team all-South Central Conference honors with 109 saves. The trio of Watters, Larson and Cook also garnered all-state recognition.
Girls' First-Team Honorees
On the girls' side, three athletes earned first-team honors: Natalie Irving, who led the team with seven goals, and Halle Baker, who received an unanimous selection, alongside Remy Vasquez-Smith. Their achievements underscore the program’s growing prominence.
Season Records and State Tournament Appearances
The boys finished the season with a 10-5-4 record and secured a second consecutive berth in the Class 2A State Tournament. The girls concluded with a 7-5-4 record, rounding out a competitive campaign for both squads.
Honorable Mentions and Future Outlook
Additional recognitions went to Jadyn DeHeer, Tommy Buttell, Josh Toledo, Huy Mai and McKale Clark, who earned honorable-mention status. With a solid foundation and continued development, the Knoxville program looks poised for further success in upcoming seasons.
