South Dakota State University announced its men’s basketball non‑conference slate for the 2026‑27 season on September 7, setting the stage for a year that will test the Jackrabbits after a 14‑18 overall record and a 7‑9 finish in Summit League play, which ended with a quarterfinal loss to St. Thomas.
The schedule features four home games against Division I opponents—Northern Colorado, Green Bay, South Alabama and Fresno State—with the matchups versus Northern Colorado and Green Bay slated for Rapid City and Sioux Falls respectively, giving the Jackrabbits a chance to showcase their talent on familiar courts.
The season opener is set for November 3 at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, marking the start of a road‑heavy non‑conference stretch that includes trips to Valparaiso, Idaho State, Abilene Christian, Milwaukee, Idaho, Eastern Kentucky, North Dakota State, North Dakota, St. Thomas and Omaha.
In addition to the Division I slate, the Jackrabbits will host four lower‑division foes—Briar Cliff, Mayville State, Dakota Wesleyan and Buena Vista—providing a balanced mix of competition as the team aims to build momentum heading into conference play.
