South Dakota's women's basketball program has released its non‑conference slate for the 2026‑27 season, a schedule that blends familiar foes with fresh challenges.
The Coyotes will meet five opponents they faced a year ago, including NAIA York, UTRGV, Idaho State, Valparaiso and Bradley, against whom they posted a 4‑1 record in 2025‑26.
At the same time, the program will introduce five new adversaries, ranging from Division III powerhouse Nebraska Wesleyan to Atlantic Sun contender North Florida, as well as NAIA Waldorf, Lindenwood and Abilene Christian.
Neutral‑site tests and conference showdowns
Two contests are slated for neutral venues, with Creighton and Abilene Christian hosting the Coyotes on predetermined dates, adding a unique travel dynamic to the lineup.
Games against Idaho State and Montana will be part of the Big Sky‑Summit League Challenge, a showcase that pits the league’s top teams against each other in a compact window.
The 2025‑26 campaign ended with a 26‑10 record, propelling South Dakota to the WNIT Fab Four, and the team celebrated a 15‑win turnaround in head coach Carrie Eighmey’s second year.
Looking ahead, the schedule promises a mix of home games in Sioux Falls and road trips to places such as Jacksonville, Florida, while the coaching staff aims to build on the recent momentum.
