The South Jersey high school baseball semifinals delivered a cascade of dramatic performances, as teams jostled for spots in the championship round scheduled for Friday.
Semifinal Highlights
Delsea Regional High School surged ahead with a 4-1 victory over Toms River South, powered by Kyle Harrison's four-hitter and 10 strikeouts. Harrison, who has allowed just one run over his last five outings, was supported by Milo Gebhard, Dom Montana and Andrew Weir, who each contributed runs and RBIs.
Mainland Regional High School rolled past Toms River East 7-0 behind Will Hickman, who tossed seven shutout innings. The win sets up a Group 3 final showdown between Delsea and Mainland, a rematch that could crown Delsea's second sectional title in three seasons.
Eastern Regional High School advanced to the South Jersey Group 4 final with a 10-1 triumph over Cherry Hill East, highlighted by key hits from Vinny Milillo and Matt Gryskiewicz.
Northern Burlington County Regional High School staged a remarkable comeback, erasing a five-run deficit in the seventh to beat Lawrence 7-6. Liam Velit and Mark Klusman homered, while Cole Marchetti struck out 10 batters in five shutout innings.
Haddonfield Memorial High School secured a 1-0 win over Seneca, with Will Solak delivering a four-hitter and James Rowe driving in the lone run. The team will host Haddon Heights in the Group 2 final, having split their regular-season meetings.
Maple Shade High School rallied from a three-run hole to defeat Schalick 6-4, while Woodstown High School downed Pennsville 6-3, thanks to Blake Rodriguez and Walker Battavio.
Additional standout efforts included Jake Vasil's solid pitching, Lino Tete's clutch hitting, Ryan Govito and Jackson Butler delivering key RBIs for Haddon Heights, Cole Simon's defensive work, Jaxon Motta and JJ Watkins contributing offensively, while Edward Leahy, Anthony Schafer, Chase Blum and Braydon Morgano added depth across the board.
The upcoming finals will feature Delsea versus Mainland, Eastern against Kingsway, and Haddonfield taking on Haddon Heights, promising more high-stakes baseball across the region.
