The decisive game, played at Palmer Field in Middletown, saw the home team rally in the sixth inning when pinch runner Nick Gombotz scored the go‑ahead run on an error, sealing the win. Earlier, Waterford had surged from a 4-0 deficit with a five‑run third inning, but South Windsor’s late surge proved decisive.
Aiden Jackson was named most valuable player after a grueling performance that included 105 pitches over two games, while also catching the opening game and setting a personal pitch‑limit record. His dual role underscored the team’s depth and resilience.
