Conference Honors Cap Off Redhawks’ Final Week
The Ohio Valley Conference announced that the Southeast Missouri State baseball squad swept the weekly awards for the last week of the 2026 regular season, underscoring the team’s dominance as it prepares for the upcoming tournament.
Mason Pennington earned the league’s Pitcher of the Week after delivering a stellar outing against Little Rock, tossing 6.2 innings without allowing a run, scattering just two hits and limiting opponents to a .095 batting average.
His effort also marked his seventh victory of the season, reinforcing his role as a cornerstone of the Redhawks’ pitching staff.
Brooks Kettering was tabbed Player of the Week following a weekend that saw him slug at a 1.273 clip, launch two doubles and two home runs, and bat .545 across the final series.
He drove in six runs, crossed the plate three times, and posted a .571 on‑base percentage, while also contributing a .571 slugging percentage that helped the team clinch key wins.
Both awards represent the first weekly recognitions of the season for Pennington and Kettering, highlighting their emergence as pivotal figures for the Redhawks.
