A Late Inning Turnaround
The Redhawks traveled to face Southern Indiana on Thursday, hoping to close out their 2026 schedule on a high note. Instead, the visitors found themselves on the losing side after a dramatic late rally.
All three of Southeast Missouri's runs came in the fifth inning, where the team capitalized on a timely hit to take a brief lead. The momentum, however, shifted when Southern Indiana answered with four runs spread across the eighth and ninth innings.
Key Performances
Carson Schrack led the Redhawks' offense with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored, while Brooks Kettering contributed two hits, a stolen base and a hit by pitch. Ryan Lopetegui added a hit and a run, complemented by two walks and a stolen base that kept the pressure on.
Despite the effort, the team's season concluded without a win, ending a campaign that had shown flashes of promise but ultimately fell short against a resilient Southern Indiana squad.
