Southeast Missouri State Baseball Players Shine Across Seven Summer Leagues

Nine Redhawks spread across seven collegiate summer circuits showcase strong performances through June 24

Nine Southeast Missouri State baseball standouts are currently scattered across seven different collegiate summer leagues, giving the program a national presence as the 2026 season unfolds.

A Summer of Opportunity

Five of those athletes are returning Redhawks who gained valuable experience in the previous season, while four newcomers are slated to arrive in Cape Girardeau this fall to bolster the roster.

Brice Cox has appeared in three games for the Healdsburg Prune Packers, recording two strikeouts in 3.2 innings, and Alex Menth has started twice for the Minnesota Mud Puppies, fanning ten batters over seven innings.

Cole Scott made a single relief outing for the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp, striking out one in two innings, while Tank Sims contributed to the Martinsville Mustangs with a .200 average and seven runs scored across eleven appearances.

Joe Terranova is batting .219 for the New Market Rebels, adding ten runs and ten RBI to his stat line, and Cooper Callahan logged one hit in three at‑bats for the Inside Edge.

Jaxson Joggerst is competing for the St. Louis Prospects in the 1st Phorm Collegiate League, and Hayden Nazarenus leads the Cape Catfish with a .357 average, five home runs and a team‑high RBI total.

Trey O'Neil will finish the summer with the Cape Catfish, having made 13 relief appearances in 2025 and poised to transition to the fall schedule.

Looking Ahead

The mix of returning veterans and fresh talent illustrates the program’s depth, and the coaching staff expects the experience gained abroad to translate into a strong fall campaign. With several players already posting career‑high numbers, the Redhawks are positioned to carry that momentum into the upcoming season.
