Returning Starters Bring Experience
A year ago the Panthers slipped to a 3‑7 record, a result that kept them out of the playoffs after they fielded nine freshmen and seven sophomores. The experience gained from that grind has set the stage for a more mature lineup.
Among the returning starters, quarterback Christian Morris will spearhead the offense alongside 1,000‑yard rusher Miles Rickles, while linebacker Kolt Johnson is among the ten defenders returning to the lineup.
The Panthers open with a home matchup against Chelsea on August 21, then travel to face Hokes Bluff on August 27 in a rivalry that has fueled the program for decades. The schedule also includes contests against Oxford, Pell City, Pinson Valley, St. Clair County, Springville and a finale against Anniston, the 4A runner‑up.
Perhaps most encouraging is the fact that this offseason marks the first real offseason in three years, a factor players like Rickles say has already lifted morale and sharpened focus.
