Spartans Stumble in Parowan
The Lady Spartan soccer team traveled to Parowan last week and endured a 9-1 defeat at the hands of the Rams, a result that marks their first loss of the season.
The Rams came out firing, rattling off six goals in the opening half and building a 6-0 lead that left the Spartans scrambling to respond.
Emery's lone marker came in the second half, a strike from Kodee Behling that was set up by an assist from Daley Stewart, offering a brief spark of hope amid the deficit.
Looking Ahead to Millard
Coach Emery, now 0-4, will host the Millard Eagles on Thursday in Castle Dale, a venue that holds memories of a 1-0 overtime loss to the Eagles last season.
That previous encounter, also decided in overtime, underscores the competitive edge Millard brings, and the Spartans will be eager to reverse the narrative.
Before stepping into Region 13 competition on September 8, Emery still has two non‑region fixtures scheduled against Grand and Juab, giving the squad a chance to fine‑tune before the league grind.
The upcoming match against Millard is slated for 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, and the team hopes to capitalize on home‑field familiarity in Castle Dale.
