A new partnership between Spectrum and TeamSnap is reshaping youth football on Staten Island, delivering a suite of upgrades that go far beyond the usual sponsorship.
The Staten Island Boys Football League (SIBFL) now wears Spectrum‑branded jerseys and plays on a freshly installed turf field that meets modern safety standards. The league’s practice sessions are supported by the latest tackling machines and training sleds, giving athletes access to equipment typically reserved for higher‑level programs.
Expanding the Reach of Community Sports
Spectrum’s involvement spans a 41‑state footprint, targeting more than 150,000 households that rely on youth sports for physical activity and social development. By the end of next year the collaboration aims to incorporate 1,200 leagues across the country, a goal that reflects the companies’ shared commitment to accessible athletics.
Sergio Rigau, who helps guide the league’s operations, emphasized that the resources provided by the partnership do more than improve facilities; they foster environments where teamwork, trust and confidence can grow.
Beyond the physical upgrades, the alliance underscores a broader vision of strengthening local communities. Spectrum’s investment in youth sports aligns with its strategy to deepen ties with neighborhoods, while TeamSnap’s platform streamlines organization and communication for coaches, parents and volunteers.
The initiative also highlights the growing role of technology in grassroots athletics. With 25 million users worldwide, TeamSnap’s management tools help leagues like SIBFL coordinate schedules, track progress and ensure that every participant receives a quality experience.
As the partnership rolls out, the impact will be measured not only in upgraded fields but also in the smiles of young athletes who now have clearer pathways to develop their skills and pursue their sporting passions.
