Local Stars Commit to College Programs
Two of Holland Christian's most celebrated basketball players have announced their college destinations, sending ripples through the local sports community.
Titus Spencer, a first‑team all‑state honoree and the Michigan Sportswriters' Player of the Year, closed his high school career with a 1,000‑point milestone and a run to the Division 2 regional finals. Coach Brad Jansen praised Spencer's impact on both ends of the floor, citing his 20 points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists per game as evidence of a complete skill set.
Holcomb's Versatile Skill Set
Jake Holcomb, an all‑conference forward, posted averages of 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals per game, displaying a versatile arsenal that includes three‑point shooting, the ability to rise above the rim and post up opponents. He has committed to Trine University, an NCAA Division III institution in Angola, Indiana.
Program Profiles
Spencer will continue his career at Cornerstone University, an NAIA program located in Grand Rapids, while Holcomb will join the Thunder of Trine, a team that captured the 2024 NCAA championship, highlighting the program's recent surge.
The commitments underscore a bright future for Holland Christian's basketball pipeline, with both players expected to make immediate contributions to their respective teams as they transition to the next level of competition.
