Ammonia not only reduces greenhouse‑gas emissions but also delivers superior energy efficiency, allowing the arena’s refrigeration cycle to maintain optimal ice conditions with less power draw.
Alongside the new cooling technology, the renovation adds state‑of‑the‑art LED lighting that is projected to slash electricity consumption by roughly 35 percent, while upgraded temperature controls could trim HVAC energy use by up to 20 percent.
The upgrades also prioritize player safety, incorporating enhanced padding, improved rinkside barriers and more reliable ice surface preparation through the new concrete slab that will serve as the foundation for the ice.
